Buried metal structures are prone to electrochemical corrosion in the soil environment. In order to inhibit electrochemical corrosion, active metals can be used as sacrificial anode materials to provide protective current to buried metal structures through the consumption of anode materials, so as to achieve the effect of corrosion inhibition.
According to different protected structures, the anode application is as follows:
Cathodic protection of tank inner wall: aluminum anode and highly activated aluminum anode;
Buried pipeline, grounding grid and outer wall of small storage tank: zinc anode, magnesium anode and banded magnesium anode;
Water transmission pipeline (PCCP pipeline): zinc anode, strip zinc anode.
The electrochemical properties of the anode are as follows:
Species | Open circuit potential -V, SCE | Work potential -V, SCE | Actual capacitance A.h/kg | Current efficiency % | Soluble |
Aluminum anode | 1.10-1.18 | 1.05-1.12 | ≥2400 | ≥85 | Corrosion products easy to fall off,the surface dissolve even. |
High active aluminum alloy anode | 1.45-1.50 | 1.40-1.45 | ≥2080 | ≥70
Zinc anode | 1.050-1.09 | 1.00-1.05 | ≥780 | ≥95
Magnesium anode | ≥1.50 | ≥1.45 | ≥1200 | ≥55 |
The size and weight of anode can be customized according to the requirements of Party A.
