To meet the stringent requirements of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and USCG, in November 2022, the BalClor® Smart ballast water management system underwent over a dozen consecutive rounds of land-based biological effectiveness tests in seawater, brackish water, and freshwater environments. In July 2023, at the 80th session of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 80) held in London, the BalClor®Smart ballast water management system received final approval from the IMO. In August 2023, under the witness of DNV and CCS classification societies, multiple rounds of biological effectiveness tests on actual ships were successfully completed, with results fully complying with IMO D-2 standards.

With the optimization of the ballast treatment process, the BalClor®Smart ballast water management system has reduced its volume by over 10% compared to its predecessor, making it more flexible for on-site installation and perfectly suitable for all types of ships.
